  • “Joleen arrived at our photo shoot ready with her bag of tricks (tons of fun props and toys) to ensure that my three children had fun during the photo shoot. My kids warmed up to her immediately, and the end result was natural looking, fun, playing pictures! Her ease with young children and her natural talent as a photographer resulted in beautiful, heirloom quality photos.” Leslie S.
  • “As a friend of Joleen’s I have been fortunate to see her work progress throughout the past few years. I have been fortunate to have her shoot our young daughter and family on more than one occasion and each time she has been encouraging, calm, and fun. The shoots have been very relaxed and enjoyable and the final product has been beautiful.” Heather B.

Miss M

I am headed to Skye's Soulographer workshop in just a couple hours (woohoo!) but I wanted to post a few quick favorites from this morning's shoot. This is Miss
M and she's a Jet Set Kid. It was super windy and we were climbing around in hills of tall weeds. ;) All and all, a fun shoot - she was a trooper. I hope her mommy likes the sneak peeks! :)

Trunk Show Updates

I just wanted to let you know that the trunk show invites have been mailed and most of you should have received them by now. If you're interested in attending but haven't received an invitation, shoot me an email with your mailing address. If you're in Coachella Valley, I am taking appointments for Friday, May 2nd to view the line. If you're in Orange or Los Angeles counties you're invited to my show in San Clemente on Saturday, May 3rd. *Please Note* - Some of the invitations went out with the wrong address (Rosa NOT Road should have been written). I will confirm the address with you upon RSVP. Feel free to invite your friends!

Because You Know I'm Obsessive...

...this shouldn't come to any surprise to you. :) I've been lucky to have time to scrapbook the last couple of days. Today I even had a friend over for brunch and scrappin'. This is some of what I've been working on. I bought that super fun red and white polka dot album today and jazzed it up with fun felt stickers for Peyton's pages. The titles in these layouts (other than "what a hoot") were stamped with clear stamps by Autumn Leaves. The last two pages were made with my new love, elsie products. *swoon*

ps- gah.. i hate that these get cut off on the right side. you can see the entire image by right clicking and selecting view image. hth.

Ok, and Digi, too.

We're on the way out the door to go to California Disney Adventure but I wanted to quickly share a couple digital layouts I created yesterday. Still gotta give the love there... so clean and still so fun! :) I think I'll print all my digi layouts soon so I can show you how they look in the album. Have a great day!

Lay It Out

I really need to get a 12x12 scanner/printer, don't I? Ugh. I hate having to take photos of my pages because they always come out a wee bit wonky. The very first page I was able to scan because it's 8x8. The others are just a few of the pages I've done for someone else. I've been scrapping a lot and having a blast doing it. I love digi scrapping but nothing beats the real deal in my opinion! It's so fun putting the various elements together to achieve a certain aesthetic.

Dear Peyton,

You are such a freak. We affectionately  refer to you as "The Spaz" because you're all over the place. We're counting down the days until you're old enough for puppy school. You're three months old and all puppy- curious and wild. You antagonize poor Spencer by rounding him up like he epitomizes a flock of sheep, all the while jumping and nipping. And, God forbid you attempt to get within a two foot radius of him when he has a treat! He's almost taken your head off on several occasions but you're still oblivious. Regardless of any attempts to stop you, you feel the need to squeeeeeeeze yourself under the kitchen cabinets every chance you get to see what kind of treasures you can find. You worm and wiggle your way out of arms holding you even five feet above ground. You pee on the bed every time you're allowed up and if we change the sheets and mistakenly let you stay you pee again to let us know you wanted that there.

Oh, but that look! You know the one I'm talking about. The absolutely endearing, sweet one you give with your adorable wrinkly face and huge eyes. You have such personality! And let me just say, you give the best kisses!

Ruff!

Up until recently I've offered pet sessions, more as an "add on" then anything else. I haven't put any effort into that venture or really developed a strong vision. I'm happy to say- no longer! I've spent the last few weeks thinking about this and making plans. Starting this Summer/early Fall I will have all of the details ironed out and on the website. I will say that I am changing these sessions to Dogs only since that is where my true passion is. We're going to have two types of sessions including non traditional "studio" portraits as well as the oh-so-fun on location sessions.

I am looking for a couple dog lovin' owners / families that would like to volunteer an hour or two to help me develop my vision. In exchange you will receive a complimentary 11x14 from the session and 10% off any prints purchased.  You must live in Coachella Valley, the Inland Empire, or Orange County (or willing to travel).

Please email me if you're interested!

PS- Thanks to Spencer for being such a willing model. :)

Love, Joleen Photography
