Isn't she lovely, Isn't she wonderful

You may remember the equestrian photoshoot I did with Heather's peanut last month. Well, Heather ordered a canvas of her favorite photo from our session and I've been harassing her for a photo to share with you guys! ;) Haha!

Isn't it beautiful?! I love it on thier living room wall, over the mantel, with all of Heather's shabby chic decorations. Just lovely! Here are a few more photos from that session that I have yet to share:

Wall Art Ideas

I've been meaning to share this photo of my previous charge in her nursery. Isnt' she the sweetest!? I love her room, too. I wanted to share how her mommy displayed the newborn photos I shot. I love seeing how my clients display their sessions in their home, so if you have your's up be sure to send a pic my way so I can share with everyone! Tidying Up

I don't know about you but I am SO messy. I don't know what it is but little explosions are being set off at all times resulting in a BIG mess. My art space is no exception- if anything it's worse! I get so into whatever I'm creating that I end up pulling everything out and piling it up around me. Most of the time I work myself down to 6 inches of space.

This afternoon I decided to tackle some chores around the house- studio space included. I  moved a couple items from the counter to the cabinet to give me more table space. Before, the cupcake tray was overlapping my work mat and none of my paint supplies were out. Since I've mainly been working in a

few art journals lately, I need my paint supplies more accessible. I still have a lot more to put away. I think I need to go to IKEA soon for more boxes for the cabinet. I've been separating supplies in those little pink boxes (the ones I used in my old studio) but without the lids- this way I can see directly into them since I'm really not a labeling kind of gal. ;) 

It's a tight space so I really need to think about what I want and need up here. In the garage I have an entire section of art supplies (1/3 of what we store, can you believe it!) set up in plastic bins and boxes. Most of that actually is labeled and organized thanks to our move so I've just got to keep it that way!

I'm starting to get into Holiday mode. I've been brainstorming ideas and imagine a transition will be happening in a week or so- time to bring out the fabric and sewing machine! I have a few custom orders for special Tweets that I am excited about. These ones will be slightly different than the ones in the shop. I've also been noting some fabulous finds to share with you in the form of gift guides, which I plan to post next week. Moving Forward

Lately, I've been trying to come up with a way to display my very favorite polaroids. I was so inspired when I came across this last month. I loved the idea, although a heart shape didn't exactly scream "Alex and Joleen". ;) I am quite pleased with the result of this installation.

Below, are a couple more spreads from my fertility art journal. I am really enjoying the process of working in this book. It's so personal and freeing. It has really been unlike any other "project" I've done before. Because it deals with such a personal topic and I'm using personal imagery and ideas, I feel so much more connected to it. It feels like an extension of me; of my thoughts and feelings.

Small Corners

My parents brought my sisters for their visit today. We had a yummy lunch of chicken "tacos" on pita bread, salad, and fruit smoothies. It was so yummy and I'm ready for my nap. ;) We're watching a movie with the girls right now. Aimee is supposed to come by later on her way to work.

We're just about done moving things around here at home.. everything is looking great! I can't wait to finish.. we just have a few more things to find a home for in our bedroom and I'm still organizing my art space. Here are a few peeks from around the house.

So, I didn't make the design team and I was pretty bummed out about it. Maybe some other time? I'm sure you'll be seeing an art journal page referring to it soon. ;)

Hello, friends!

I didn't intend to fall off for an entire season but it was necessary. We are now back in Orange County and loving it! We live in a really beautiful area. I have joined a few groups including an outdoors club and pug meetup so we've been participating in events with these. I've been walking and hiking a lot and have a couple of friends that come over to hike the trails with me every week. I am working part time as a nanny for infant twins and one preschooler. I am really loving the family I work for. Above, is my favorite lil' corner of our new place. This is our loft and where you would stay if you were our guest. ;)

This weekend I was able to create for the first time since we've moved! I was inspired to create these pieces using my favorite cabinet card vintage photos. I wanted to steer from the pastels I normally use for my vintage inspired pretties and create pieces that were fun and bright! I hope you like them. :) These will be in my shop later this week. xo, Joleen
